MICHAEL R. C. RIESS is a founding partner in the firm's New Orleans office. Mr. Riess has represented domestic and international corporate and individual clients in complex litigation and transaction matters, with an emphasis on maritime defense matters; premises liability; roadway construction and design; Jones Act defense matters; marine construction; banking; lender liability; and commercial, corporate and real estate litigation and transactions, including stock mergers and asset acquisitions. Mr. Riess' areas of practice include construction litigation, maritime personal injury defense, charter party disputes, insurance and indemnity law questions, maritime lien enforcement and foreclosure and restructuring and litigating troubled loans for both creditors and debtors. Mr. Riess has negotiated and prepared Master Service Contracts, Stock Merger Agreements and Lease Agreements for both corporate and individual clients. Mr. Riess is a Policy Issuing Agent for First American Title Insurance Company.

Michael Riess is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana and the Louisiana Supreme Court and all courts of Louisiana.
