Esten Goldsmith worked as a welfare caseworker, technical writer, scholarly journal editor, Realtor, teacher and attended law school in DC later in life. Because her early careers encompassed many areas of life, she brought rich experience to her law practice. She worked for two small firms in DC and Maryland before returning home in 1994 to North Carolina where she was raised. In 1994, two of her cousins lived in Cabarrus County, which enticed her to make Concord her home. She worked for a cousin for several years and in 1998 she opened Goldsmith Law Office, practicing solo for ten years. The office handled primarily real estate closings and bankruptcy, though estate planning and business law have always been a part of her practice.
In 2008, she partnered with several Concord attorneys before deciding to semi-retire. Presently, she is happily associated with Ferguson, Scarbrough in an "Of Counsel" capacity, working as she needs to handle consumer bankruptcy, the drafting of wills and trusts, estate management, and business law issues. Her focus continues to be competent, compassionate handling of client matters.
