A native of Buffalo, New York, Mr. Richie was valedictorian of his class at City College of New York. He earned his law degree from New York University, where he earned an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Fellowship. Upon graduation from law school he entered private practice with the New York law firm of White & Case. Thereafter, he was appointed to serve as Director of the New York Office of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). In 1983, Mr. Richie was appointed Assistant General Counsel of Chrysler Corporation rising thereafter to serve as Vice President and General Counsel for Automotive Legal Affairs. In 1996, Mr. Richie was elected to the Executive Committee of the United States Golf Association (USGA) after serving for five years as General Counsel of the U.S.G.A.
