Jeanne Rickert advises large and small companies on leveraged acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, spin-offs, and strategic investments. She is equally experienced advising business teams and in-house counsel.
Jeanne represented Nextel in its merger with Sprint and, prior to the merger, on a variety of acquisitions, buyouts, and public offerings, as well as the creation and unwinding of Nextel Partners. She now serves Sprint Nextel on similar matters. Jeanne also has worked with NHL and NBA teams on transfers of control and with arena owners and for-profit and nonprofit clients on arena management contracts and sponsorship and naming rights agreements, and she has counseled public and private clients on development projects and contracts focused on technology and commercialization.
As chair of the Ohio State Bar Association's Corporation Law Committee and of its Subcommittee on Limited Liability Companies, Jeanne oversaw the drafting of Ohio's limited liability company statute. She also participated in the drafting of Ohio's partnership law and the revision of its limited partnership law. She is a member of the Ohio Supreme Court Task Force that created the pilot project for a commercial docket. She coauthored the 1999 edition of Ohio Limited Liability Companies.
