Drayton, Amy C.

William A. Goldman was born in Akron, Ohio on April 19, 1940. He attended The Ohio State University where he obtained his B.S., in 1963, Tau Epsilon Rho (President, 1965-1966), and his Juris Doctor in 1966.

Mr. Goldman and his firm, Goldman & Braunstein, LLP, entered into an Of-Counsel relationship with Crabbe, Brown & James in April 2004. Mr. Goldman has developed a reputation as one of the best and most effective zoning and eminent domain attorneys in central Ohio. He was involved in the rezonings of the first Planned Unit Developments in central Ohio. He has successfully represented land owners in eminent domain actions receiving a verdict of $8 Million (the initial offer by the condemning authority was $3.5 Million), and a verdict of $13 Million (the initial offer was $3.8 Million) before juries in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.

Some of Mr. Goldman's past accomplishments include, but are not limited to, being a board member of the Ohio Housing and Development Board (State Housing Agency), co-chairman of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission's Task Force on Fair Housing, co-chairman of the New York University Real Estate Investment Conference, co chairman of the National Business Institute seminar on "Land Use Law in Ohio", and Chairman of the Columbus Parkland Dedication Committee. He was appointed by past City of Columbus Mayor, Lashutka, to be a member of the Columbus Zoning Steering Committee, which was responsible for rewriting the Columbus Zoning Code. Mr. Goldman was an integral part of the final review of the Columbus Comprehensive Land Plan (1995) and was a committee member in the drafting of the Columbus West Side Plan.

Mr. Goldman is a current memeber of the Board and Vice President of the Franklin County Veteran's Memorial Board having been appointed by the Franklin County Commissioners, and was appointed by the Mayor of Columbus as a Board Member of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. He received the Leadership Award for 2010 having sponsored a Wine for Wildlife Auction, which has raised $225,000 for the Zoo's conservation programs.  He is a member of the Building Industry Association of Ohio, The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Strathmore's Who's Who and was designated as Professional of the Year in Eminent Domain Law. He was inducted as an Ohio Super Lawyer in 2010 and 2011, and is recognized as one of only two Super Lawyers in Ohio in the area of eminent domain. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar and Columbus Bar Associations, and is registered with The Supreme Court of Ohio.
