Joe Goldman represents clients on a wide range of international and domestic tax matters. His principal focus is on structuring, negotiating, and documenting mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition integration of global businesses, internal restructurings, and intellectual property licensing and planning, as well as related disputes with the IRS.
Joe spends a significant amount of time on the cross-border aspects of international taxation. He works with clients on restructuring their businesses to maximize tax efficiency by developing specialized planning for deferral, foreign tax credits, transfer pricing, and profit repatriation. Joe works extensively with clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical, energy, electronics, manufacturing, spirits, services, and automotive industries and adheres to aggressive timetables to maximize client business opportunities. Representative clients include Celgene, Dow Corning, Patron Spirits, Pfizer, and Timken.
Joe is a member of the American Bar Association (Taxation Section), the District of Columbia Bar, and the New York State Bar Association. He has lectured at conferences on numerous topics involving federal and international taxation. Recently, he lectured on the intersection between tax and intellectual property.
