Guy R. Dotson, Jr. was raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1985, and his law degree from Memphis State University (University of Memphis) in 1987.
In 1988, Mr. Dotson was admitted to the Tennessee Bar. He is admitted to practice before all Tennessee state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. Claims Court.
Mr. Dotson's areas of practice include criminal defense, both misdemeanor and felony cases in both General Sessions Court and Circuit Court, representing injured persons in personal injury and workers' compensation claims, and divorce and family law. Mr. Dotson has served as City Attorney for the City of Eagleville, Tennessee and currently serves as Municipal Judge for the City of LaVergne, Tennessee.
