After completing his undergraduate degree in political science at Boise State University in 1995, Scott Dowdy began practicing law in 1999 after receiving his juris doctorate from the University of South Dakota. His entire legal career has focused on criminal proceedings, primarily criminal defense as he is a strong advocate for a person’s constitutional rights.
He spent eight years as a city council member and mayor of a rapidly growing city in Ada County. He also spent four years as a city prosecutor. These two types of experience allowed him to become a better communicator/negotiator with people from diverse backgrounds.
