Stephen Donelson is a founding shareholder and the Managing Director of Donelson Ciancio & Grant, P.C. Mr. Donelson currently serves as the head of the firm's Transactional Group, which includes the business, corporate and securities, tax, and estate planning teams.
Mr. Donelson's business practice focuses on planning, partnership, and governance-related transactions. Corporate clients range from emerging companies to large enterprises in the banking, healthcare, biotech and pharmaceutical, commercial transportation, manufacturing, real estate development, and financial services industries.
Mr. Donelson has experience in evaluating, structuring, and negotiating a wide range of commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, private equity and venture capital opportunities, lending transactions, private placement of securities, debt financing, and real estate transactions.
He has held several leadership positions, including Chairman of the Board at Front Range Community College, Board Director & President with Northglenn Neighborhood Development Corporation, President of Westminster 7:10 Rotary Club, Chairman of Metro Transit Political Action Committee, and Director of Westminster Public Safety Recognition Foundation. He has served on a number of committees and seats also with Metro North Chamber of Commerce as Business and Governmental Affairs Committee, Denver Advisory Board, Broomfield Economic Development Council, and the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center. Mr. Donelson has also received Denver's Top Wealth Managers Award, given by ColoradoBiz, the past three consecutive years.
After starting his career in public finance and the Denver legal community, Mr. Donelson co-founded Donelson & Goodwin in Denver. He became a Managing Director in Donelson Ciancio & Goodwin, P.C. when the two firms merged in 2007 and continues in that role with Donelson Ciancio & Grant, P.C.
Mr. Donelson received his M.B.A. and B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
