Rob graduated with high honors from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida, finishing first in his class and obtaining multiple book awards and honors for his work as Case Note Editor of the FCSL Law Review. Rob is a member of the Florida Bar and also admitted to practice in the Federal Bankruptcy Court in and for the Northern District of Florida and Federal District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
 
A life-long resident of Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Rob graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School and attended Florida State University obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Business & Finance in 1992. Prior to attending law school, Rob spent the better part of the 1990's in Commercial Banking as a financial analyst and Commercial Lending Officer (five years) and a licensed Life, Health and Variable Annuities Insurance Agent & licensed Florida Mortgage Broker (three years) in the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area.

Prior to joining the Dowd Law Firm, Rob was a solo-practitioner with The Gilmore Law Firm, P.A. in Destin, Florida focusing his practice on personal bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, civil litigation, business/corporate law, and real estate law. Before founding The Gilmore Law Firm, P.A., Rob was a partner with John Ledbetter, Esq. in the Firm of Ledbetter & Gilmore, P.L. where Rob practiced civil litigation and real estate law. Rob began his legal practice as an associate attorney with Matthews & Hawkins, P.A. in Destin, Florida, specializing in real estate law and real estate development, corporate law, and business law where Rob structured and consummated complex real estate transactions and real estate business ventures. Rob’s prior business experience in banking, lending, financial analysis, real estate, together with his practical experience and knowledge provides a unique mix and wealth of knowledge for his bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, and real estate law practice.

Rob is a former member of The Rotary Club of Destin and was selected among sixteen (16) other young professionals by the Destin Chamber of Commerce for the "Destin Forward” Leadership Program. Over the years, Rob has served in a variety of community and non-profit service organizations including the Destin Chamber of Commerce; the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences a/ka/ the “Recording Academy” (as Associate Member); the Okaloosa Police Athletic League Amateur Youth Boxing Club (as volunteer coach & board of director); the Women's Council of Realtors (as Affiliate Member); and other community, business, and legal organizations.

In addition to his law practice, Rob maintains a life-long passion for music and presence in the music industry, having assisted several young rock artists obtain major label recording contracts resulting in top 10 radio hits and national tours for these artists.

Rob is married with children and enjoys writing, playing, and recording music, boating, scuba-diving, digital graphics and website design, and spending time with his family and pets.
