Mr. Getnick received his B.A. from Pennsylvania State University in 1966 and his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1969. He was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in 1970 and is admitted to Federal Practice in the Northern District and Western District of New York and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
He is a Past President of the Oneida County Bar Association, a member of the New York State Bar Association Executive Committee and House of Delegates.
He has been awarded the President's Pro Bono Service Award for the Fifth Judicial District for the State of New York and has been a panel participant for the New York State Bar Association in CLE programs on Ethics and Professionalism. He has served as a Liaison Representative of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association with the Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law.
Mr. Getnick is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy having received a diploma for advanced trial advocacy skills. He is a present member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York and Past President of said Society. He has continually served as the Chairperson And Legal Counsel to the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Kirkland, New York since 1975.
