Michael Gerstein’s practice encompasses estate planning, business organizations, tax law, real estate conveyancing and development, family law, divorce law, personal injury, and business and civil litigation.  With a Master of Laws degree in taxation, Mr. Gerstein utilizes his tax expertise to assist individuals and businesses in areas of planning and operations.  He has been engaged in business dealings with international companies doing business in the New England area and will set up entities that will best serve his clients’ interests.  From an individual basis, Michael Gerstein will meet with a client to determine how a plan can best serve one’s interests, and to continue his involvement throughout that client’s needs.  Personal involvement, attention to detail, and active cooperation serve the client’s specific interest, and Mr. Gerstein will deal personally with you.  Michael Gerstein has engaged in numerous personal injury and business litigation matters, involving and including motor vehicle accidents, contract disputes, business split ups and real estate controversies.  Whether the issue involves large complex matters involving national or international concerns, or personal issues involving one person or family item, Mr. Gerstein can address your concerns.  Michael Gerstein has further tried and handled complex family and divorce law cases and can assist your personal situation and needs from a position of strength as well as sensitivity.

Michael Gerstein has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1977.  He is an honor’s graduate of the University of Maryland and received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1976 and LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 1980.  He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the (federal) United States District Court for Massachusetts, the (federal) First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Tax Court.  Mr. Gerstein is the current President of the Haverhill Bar Association and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.  He has taught tax law at  Northern Essex Community College and has given numerous seminars to the public on How to Start a New Business and Legal Entities to Employ, as well as giving lectures to Certified Public Accountants on various aspects of tax law and estate planning.   Mr. Gerstein combines his extraordinary ability and experience with a passion for the law, a commitment to excellence, and a dedication to integrity.  Assisted by his partners and associates, Michael Gerstein puts his clients in a position to succeed and ensures their problems are addressed and resolved.  He communicates frequently with his clients since personal interaction is deemed vital and necessary to obtain the best results.
