Most of Ms. Reed's work focuses on complex litigation involving insurance coverage. Ms. Reed also has experience litigating general commercial business issues, including a prior emphasis in commercial real estate and oil & gas litigation. She has personally tried eight jury cases to verdict as a volunteer prosecutor with the Houston Municipal Courts.
Ms. Reed graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She graduated cum laude ampla et magna, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Rhodes Scholar nominee. She attended the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as the Executive Editor of the Texas International Law Journal. She received her Juris Doctorate degree in May of 2006.
Ms. Reed was admitted to the Texas State Bar in November 2006, and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She is a member of the Houston Bar Association, and performs annually with that organization's Night Court production, a musical charity fundraising event. She is also a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association, including acting as the co-chair of the 2010 Law Day Committee and "graduating" from the 2010-2011 HYLA Leadership Academy.
Ms. Reed is a frequent contributor to legal periodicals. Her recent publications include the article, "Massive Fines and Puni-Cows: ‘Legal Thuggery' Might Now Affect Exemplary Damages," published in the September/October 2010 issue of the Houston Lawyer
