Michael Diener is a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Department, and a member of the Technology Transfer and Licensing Group. He joined the firm in 1995.
Practice
Mr. Diener has a broad and diverse intellectual property practice, including counseling clients in obtaining, protecting, investigating and enforcing intellectual property rights. He has extensive experience in patent prosecution of US and foreign applications for electrical, computer and mechanical inventions, as well as design and trademark applications. He has prepared infringement and validity opinions and formulated patent portfolio strategies. Mr. Diener has also been actively involved in litigation of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret rights. In addition, he has worked in licensing and in intellectual property analysis in connection with mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Diener is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is also registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
