Rick Gibson has served as the primary legal advisor on scores of business transactions, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, distressed M&A, restructurings, financings (including credit agreements, mezzanine loans, and equipment leasing), franchising, and corporate governance matters. He represents public and private companies in a variety of industries, including automotive, equipment rental, insurance, packaging and printing, restaurants, retail, and telecommunications.
Representative deals on which Rick was the primary transaction lawyer include: the consolidation and roll-up of NationsRent (n/k/a Sunbelt Rentals) of dozens of equipment rental businesses and the negotiation of more than $500 million of equipment lease financings; Multi-Color's approximately $200 million international acquisition of Collotype and the related financing; Sprint Nextel's sale (and subsequent leaseback) of more than 3,000 cellular telecommunications towers; and out-of-court debt and equity restructurings of AZ Automotive, Examination Management Services, and Norwood Promotional Products.

Rick is a frequent speaker on a variety of transaction-related topics and is a member of the American Bar Association (Business Law Section and Legal Opinion Committee), the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association. In community matters, Rick is actively involved with Buddy-Up, a program focused on tennis, fitness, and recreation for children with Down syndrome.
