Barbara was born in New Haven Connecticut, grew up on Long Island, and went to college in Westchester County, New York. After college, she lived in Manhattan and worked in copy editing for Simon & Schuster Publishing at Rockefeller Center. In 1973, her parents moved to Fullerton, California, and Barbara followed them in 1974. She has lived in Orange County ever since. Prior to becoming an attorney, Barbara was a teacher and private elementary school owner for 11 years and taught at the junior college level in a government program for Indochinese refugees. The elementary school that Barbara helped to found -- the Berkeley School of Fullerton -- has been in operation for 35 years. After graduating USC Law School, Barbara practiced health care regulatory law in a mid-sized firm and specialized in formation and structuring of medical corporations and physician self-referral and fraud and abuse compliance issues. In 2005, after serving as trustee of her parents' trust, she changed her focus to estate planning law and was offered the opportunity to take over an established estate planning practice from a retiring colleague. Her practice consists primarily of working with families, which she considers to be the best part of her job. The majority of her practice consists of representing trustees in handling family trusts and in representing executors in court supervised probates of estates. Barbara lives in Orange County with her 16 year old daughter, who attends Orange County High School of the Arts in Santa Ana, where she studies creative writing. Barbara enjoys art and art history, having spent her junior year of college studying in Venice, Italy. She and her daughter enjoy traveling to Europe and to New York City to visit family and to take in all the great museums.
