Matt Ray represents corporate clients in complex litigation matters with a focus on employment. His litigation practice includes the representation of clients in complex commercial litigation matters and the defense of employers in employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, and wage and hour litigation involving individual, class, and collective claims. His practice also includes representing employers in cases involving the misappropriation of trade secrets and confidential information, employee raiding, and violations of noncompete agreements. He also defends employee benefit plans in litigation involving claims for breach of fiduciary duties and benefits. Matt represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and state agencies in claims of discrimination and wage-hour administrative investigations. Representative clients in recent matters include Bank of America, Bridgestone/Firestone, Careerbuilder, Electronic Data Systems, Ernst & Young, General Electric, J.C. Penney, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Lennar Corporation, McDonald's, and Washington Group.
Matt's practice includes providing advice and counseling regarding employment-related issues, including issues arising under federal and state antidiscrimination laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and issues relating to employee noncompete agreements, executive employment contracts, and independent contractor classification issues. Matt also has developed arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution programs. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.
