Lisa N. Geller is counsel in WilmerHale’s Intellectual Property Department. She joined the firm in 2004.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Dr. Geller was associated with Fish & Richardson P.C., first as a technology specialist and later as an associate. She has substantial experience in the technical areas of cell biology, developmental biology, immunology, molecular biology, neurobiology and virology. Dr. Geller has handled a wide range of complex IP matters including patent prosecution and client counseling. In addition to being a primary manager of client patent portfolios, Dr. Geller was an instructor and developer of a firm-wide training program for patent prosecutors.
Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Dr. Geller worked at Harvard Medical School from 1986 to 1990, utilizing disciplines including immunocytochemistry, steroid hormone biochemistry, neurobiology and molecular biology; from 1990 to 1994, utilizing disciplines including cytogenetics, biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology; and from 1994 to 1997, as a faculty member in the Division of Medical Ethics at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Geller received a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law, and a Ph.D. degree in biology from University of California, Los Angeles, with an emphasis in developmental biology, cell biology, genetics and steroid biochemistry. She earned a B.A. degree in biology and psychology from Pitzer College.
Dr. Geller is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
