Delahunty, Patrick R.

Kate is a cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law where she served as Head Case Note & Comment Editor of the Maine Law Review.  While in law school, she worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic and provided legal representation and assistance to low-income clients in a wide range of cases including civil litigation, civil rights, and family law in federal, state, and probate courts.  Kate also served as a Bernstein District Court Fellow for the Honorable John B. Beliveau and Hon. Rick E. Lawrence.

Before law school, Kate earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bates College where she graduated with honors.  As a senior at Bates, she completed a 2400-mile self-supported cycling trip from Fort Myers, Florida to Lewiston, Maine to raise money for the Lewiston Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. 

Kate’s prior legal experience includes paralegal work for both Boston and Bangor law firms.  During these periods, she worked on a broad range of legal matters including personal injury, medical malpractice, and property damage claims with nationwide insurance interests.  Prior to joining McTeague Higbee as an associate, she worked here as a paralegal assisting attorneys in employment discrimination litigation.

Kate lives in Portland and enjoys spending time in the Maine outdoors, including running, cycling, hiking and open-water swimming.  She concentrates her practice on workers’ compensation law.
