Deaderick, born in Harrisonburg and raised in Richmond, was graduated from Virginia Military Institute, receiving a B.S. degree in Chemistry (1965), and Washington and Lee University, School of Law, where he took a J.D. degree (1972). Previously admitted to the Bars of Massachusetts (1973), New York (1977) and Virginia (1990), he has practiced law since 1972. Formerly he served as Public Defender in Boston (1972-1976) and Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York (1978-1982). He maintained a private practice in Manhattan until 1990 when he relocated to Fredericksburg where he presently has his law office. While serving in the United States Army, Armor 1966-1968 and Army Reserves 1968-1972 he held the rank of Captain. He has prosecuted, defended and served on military courts martial boards with benefit of special training in chemical warfare.
His tort practice includes extensive experience in serious injury cases, permanent injury, disability and wrongful death. He successfully represents injured people, children and adults, in auto accident and truck accident cases seeking maximum recovery.
He also has significant experience in criminal law throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. He represents defendants accused of serious crime including criminal charges in drug cases, possession and distribution, breaking and entering "B&E", computer solicitation of minors, rape, assault and battery "A&B", malicious wounding, firearm, and felony and misdemeanor cases.
Mr. Deaderick is also one of few attorneys successfully representing college and university students who are accused of honor violation of the school's Honor System or Code.
