Lee Garrett has more than 35 years of experience as a trial lawyer and has led teams and prepared cases in significant commercial and personal injury disputes and other civil matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in "bet the company" cases in numerous state and federal courts. He has presented oral argument in federal and state courts across the country, including three oral arguments before the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and heads the Trial Practice in the Atlanta Office.
Recently, Lee led a group of Jones Day lawyers representing a regional airline carrier enjoining the termination of its multimillion dollar contract and securing an affirmance on appeal to the Eleventh Circuit. He currently is representing regional airline carriers in five other contract disputes. He is also heading a team of Jones Day lawyers representing a manufacturer of utility terrain vehicles in a number of cases that have been filed in Georgia.
Lee has written and lectured extensively before various groups, including seminars sponsored by The National Law Journal, the Practising Law Institute, the American Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia, including seminars on "The Product Liability of Manufacturers, Hazardous Wastes, and Toxic Torts" and "Business and the First Amendment." Lee has been and is currently listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and Georgia Super Lawyers and in the premiere issue of Super Lawyers — Corporate Counsel Edition (April 2008).
