Jonathan Pressman is a partner in the firm's Securities Department, and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2001.
Practice
Mr. Pressman's practice focuses on securities enforcement, internal corporate investigations and white collar criminal defense. He has represented major investment banks, public companies, hedge funds and individuals in a wide range of matters before the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, securities self regulatory organizations and state securities enforcement authorities.
Recent matters have focused on sales and trading in complex mortgage-related securities, broker-dealer compliance and stock option accounting. In particular, Mr. Pressman has represented clients in matters concerning securities valuation, investor and counterparty disclosure, trading compliance, insider trading, broker dealer supervision, bank fraud, executive compensation disclosure, corporate governance and accounting restatements. He also has represented clients in a variety of federal and state securities litigation matters.
Mr. Pressman is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Recent Highlights
Mr. Pressman won asylum for a Tibetan refugee after a trial before the United States Immigration Court in New York City.
Professional Activities
Mr. Pressman is a member of the Federal Bar Council and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
