Benjamin is an associate at the firm whose practice focuses on complex litigation.  Representative matters include:

• Representing two individuals in a False Claims Act suit brought against an insurance company relating to its claims-handing procedures following Hurricane Katrina

• Representing a successor trust established pursuant to Section 524(g) of the Bankruptcy Code in insurance coverage litigation

• Representing several individuals with disabilities and two disability rights organizations in a suit against a large hotel chain for Americans with Disabilities Act violations

• Representing a Sri Lankan exporting company in an insurance dispute arising out of a product liability action

Benjamin also maintains an active pro bono practice.  His pro bono matters include representing a homeowner in a successful appeal that nearly quadrupled a state grant award offered for damage sustained in Hurricane Katrina, and representing a minor seeking insurance coverage for damages incurred from sexual abuse suffered in a youth housing facility.

Prior to joining Gilbert LLP, Benjamin was an associate in the antitrust practice group at Arnold and Porter, LLP from 2006-2007, where he represented a credit card company in an antitrust litigation relating to interchange rates.
