Licensure: Sharon Pomeranz is licensed to practice law in the New Mexico State Court, the Federal Court of Special Claims and several Tribal Courts. Ms. Pomeranz is a member of the New Mexico Bar and the Federal Bar for the District of New Mexico.
Education: Ms. Pomeranz earned her Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law at American University (the only law school in the United States founded by women) in 1996 and her Bachelor of Arts from Emory University in 1993.

Associations and Experience: Sharon Pomeranz worked as a civil legal aid attorney in northern New Mexico serving hundreds of low-income clients, including members of the Pueblos. Ms. Pomeranz worked for Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council, Inc. and subsequently became the Staff Attorney for the Pueblo of Tesuque. As the legal advisor to the Tribal Council, Ms. Pomeranz negotiated inter-governmental agreements and represented the tribe in gaming and business development. A successful right-of-way deal was accomplished resulting in a monetary settlement for the Pueblo and the improved safety of the highway for millions of travelers on US 84/285. Ms. Pomeranz specializes in federal Indian law and the defense of tribal sovereignty. In addition, she has worked as a contract attorney for several firms in Albuquerque and Santa Fe practicing other areas, including criminal defense, non-profit consulting and has been an advocate for safe access to medical marijuana and the education of patients and health care providers. Ms. Pomeranz has also taught Business Law at Northern New Mexico Community.
