Benjamin I. Dach, Ph.D. is a scientific advisor in the New York office of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP.
Dr. Dach specializes in the fields of pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, medical device, polymer, and materials sciences. His responsibilities include prior art searches, litigation support, patent prosecution, freedom to operate assessments, IP due diligence, infringement analysis, and supporting opinions for foreign and domestic patent portfolios.
Before joining the firm, Dr. Dach gained experience in research commercialization at Columbia University’s technology transfer office, Columbia Technology Ventures. As a fellow there, he wrote dozens of commercial assessment reports related to new technologies ranging from biomedicine to computer science and collaborated with legal counsel regarding technology patentability and infringement issues. Dr. Dach also worked as a product development intern at Mako Surgical Corporation where he assisted in the development of a new surgical robotics system for orthopedic knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Dach received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University. His doctoral research focused on developing novel methods for synthesizing unique polymer structures with applications in pharmaceutical drug delivery. Dr. Dach received a B.A., magna cum laude, in Chemistry from Yeshiva University.
