Davin C Curtiss was born in Silvis, Illinois. He is a 1992 summa cum laude graduate from Marquette University and obtained his law degree with high distinction from the University of Iowa in 1995. Davin was the Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Corporation Law in 1994-95 and authored "Fair Labor Standards Act and Child Labor in Agriculture," Journal of Corporation Law, in 1995, which received the Award of Excellence for Student Scholarship from the American Agricultural Law Association. He joined the firm in 1995 upon being admitted to the Iowa Bar. In 1998, he was admitted to the Illinois Bar, followed by admission to the Wisconsin Bar in 1999. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa. Davin is a member of the American, Iowa State, Illinois State, and Dubuque County Bar Associations and the State Bar of Wisconsin. In 1998, he received the Pro Bono Award of the Iowa State Bar Association and Volunteer Lawyers Project. He was elected to the Dubuque County Magistrate Appointing Commission in 2002. In 2004, Davin was elected to Board of Directors of the Wisconsin State Bar Association, General Practice Session. He is a past Vice President of the Mississippi Valley Running Association. Davin's general practice includes, but is not limited to the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, trial practice, workers compensation, and labor and employment law.
