In the 1970's I worked as a VISTA(Volunteers in Service To America) volunteer in rural Alabama.During that period,I did some work with a Land Loss Program which was helping prevent land loss from poor Black & white Farmers to large corporations- mostly lumber companies. Many of these people were losing their property in tax sales & in foreclosure sales. Some of the people we talked to could save their property but could not find anyone who would even talk to them. I learned that for those people who could afford to make the monthly payments in the future bankruptcy could help. It was a way the little guy could survive against giant corporate interests. I like the idea of helping people save their homes & properties.
