Kelli Anne Francis was born in Kearney, Nebraska. She was admitted to the Nebraska bar in 1997 and the Iowa bar in 2006. She joined the law firm of Walentine O'Toole McQuillan & Gordon in 2007.
She received her preparatory education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with an emphasis in writing and a minor in Psychology with emphasis in Business. Ms. Francis received her law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law at Lincoln, Nebraska in 1997. While in law school, Ms. Francis participated in the Civil Practice Clinic and received the CALI Award of Excellence and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers 1997 Award of highest distinction. She also clerked for a semester at the United States District Court in Lincoln, Nebraska with the Honorable Richard G. Kopf.
Following law school, Ms. Francis worked for an insurance defense firm specializing in all types of defense litigation. She has also had experience with family law and divorce proceedings. Ms. Francis came to the firm following her career as in-house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Group for 4 years where she focused primarily on workers' compensation, subrogation and insurance defense. Ms. Francis has also presented at several employer based seminars on behalf of the insurance company and prepared materials for presentation at bar associated seminars.
Ms. Francis's hobbies include snow skiing, photography and scrapbooking. She is an avid fan of Husker football and college baseball as well.
