James L. Cunningham, Jr., is an attorney licensed to practice before all the Courts of the State of California, the United States District Court Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Jim grew up in Ventura County in the cities of Ventura and Ojai. Jim, his wife Lori, and their son Nicholas, live in Camarillo. Jim is a member of the California Bar Association, Ventura County Bar Association, California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Jim is also a member of the Tuesday Camarillo Rotary. Jim limits his practice to Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Litigation and Will Contest matters. Jim passed the Bar exam on the first try following his graduation from Whittier College of Law (1994). While at Whittier, Jim was the recipient of Academic Scholarships in the Second and Third years of Law School, was Research Editor of the Whittier Law Review, and was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award (highest grade) in Civil Procedure. Jim received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California at Santa Cruz (1991), earning the distinction of Honors in the Major. While at the University of California, Jim studied abroad at the Chambre de Commerce in Nimes, France (1991) and at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain (1989-1990). Jim is proficient in French and Spanish. Jim is also a graduate of Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai (1987).
