Mark I. Plaine, Esq. is a Dean's list graduate of the University of Maryland and of the Syracuse University College of Law. He is admitted to practice both in the State of New York, and in the State of Florida. Mr. Plaine has been actively involved in the practice of matrimonial and family law for over 20 years in the State of New York.
Mr. Plaine serves on the Pension and Retirement Fund and Amicus committees of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and serves on the Mental Health & Custody and Accountants & Appraisers committees of that organization. He is a member of the matrimonial and Family Law committees of various local bar associations, including the Queens County Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and New York County Lawyer's Association. He has lectured for various bar associations and professional organizations regarding various aspects of family law and domestic relations matters, and has had articles published concerning these topics. His recently published articles in the New York Family law Monthly include “Matrimonial Litigants and Zones of Privacy" and “The marital residence in Divorce," Financial Issues Abound." Mr. Plaine has also served as an adjunct professor of family law on the college level.
Mr. Plaine has handled hundreds of contested and uncontested divorce proceedings, including trials and appeals of matters involving grounds for divorce, property distribution, support and counsel fees. He is available for consultation regarding all areas of matrimonial law.
