Pierre Pine has been practicing law since 2000. He began his career as an associate with Parker Mills & Patel LLP, handling various complex business litigation matters. Mr. Pine joined McPherson Rane, LLP in September 2006.
Experience:
Mr. Pine has handled numerous complex litigation matters, including copyright infringement, trademark infringement, tortious interference, legal malpractice and breach of contract actions. He has handled all aspects of civil litigation from inception to trial, and has handled matters in both State and Federal courts in California. In 2005, Mr. Pine was responsible for a successful motion for summary judgment granted in favor of all defendants, on all claims, in a multi-million dollar intellectual property case, which involved claims relating to the copyright and trademark rights to the "Eleanor" automobile in the film "Gone In 60 Seconds." In 2004, Mr. Pine second chaired the trial of a partnership dispute relating to various real estate ventures, which resulted in a successful verdict of over a quarter million dollars.
Since joining McPherson Rane, LLP, Mr. Pine has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in various complex entertainment litigation actions, including copyright and trademark infringement disputes, and breach of contract actions.
Publications and Honors:
Mr. Pine is the co-author of "Ethics and Entertainment Law in California: The Essentials," and "The Pellican's Mess - Ethical Consideration for Attorneys Who Hire Private Investigators in the Wake of Pellicano," which were both published as part of CLE International's seminar materials for its Film and Television Law Seminar in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Additionally, “Ethics and Entertainment Law: The Essentials” was included as part of the syllabus for the 2009, 32nd Annual Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Section Symposium.
Mr. Pine was selected as a "Southern California Rising Star Attorney," by Southern California Super Lawyers and Los Angeles magazines, in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008
