Mr. Piantino is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation and trial practice. Mr. Piantino has extensive litigation and trial experience on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants and has achieved well publicized success for clients in a broad range of cases including insurance coverage and bad faith, personal injury, professional malpractice, commercial and products, aviation and marine matters. Several of the verdicts he has obtained on behalf of clients have been published in the New Jersey Law Journal, Verdict Search, Jury Verdict Review and other local New Jersey newspapers.
Mr. Piantino received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and his J.D. and a certificate in International Law from Pace University School of Law with cum laude honors in 1995. While in law school, he was awarded the distinction of Ranking Scholar. Mr. Piantino attended the LL.M. program at Seton University School of Law where he has completed all coursework in his concentration of Health Care Litigation and is currently matriculated to complete his doctoral thesis. He is admitted to practice in the Superior Court of New Jersey; the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Piantino was honored in 1997 by Bergen County Legal Services as Person of The Year for his pro bono service to the community. He is currently the Vice President of the Woodcliff Lake (NJ) Education Association, a not-for-profit corporation created to provide educational opportunities and programs for children of that district. He is past member of the Arthur T. Vanderbilt Inn of Court and Bergen, Essex and Union County Bar Associations. In 2000, he was certified by the State of New Jersey as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B).
