Colin Forestal's practice includes the drafting and prosecution of United States and international patent applications. He also regularly participates in patent due diligence and freedom-to-operate investigations in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields and in related opinion work.
Colin received his doctorate at Stony Brook University where his graduate research centered around the bacterium Francisella tularensis, the causative agent of tularemia. He utilized various approaches in the fields of immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology to elucidate methods of disease pathogenesis and assess the host response to the organism. During his time at Stony Brook, Colin published several scientific papers and was appointed to a training grant issued by the National Institutes of Health.
