Of Counsel to Bohonnon Law Firm, Brian P. Flanagan is a graduate of Tuft's University (BA1978) and the Catholic University, Columbus School of Law (JD 1985). Mr. Flanagan has also attended other post-graduate level programs including the United States Naval War College Center for Continuing Education. Mr. Flanagan served in the United States Coast Guard from 1978 1985, roles of which included legal advisor to the United States Department of State on treaty negotiations. He has been involved in the practice of admiralty law in the Boston, Massachusetts area since 1985. He is admitted to all state and federal courts in Massachusetts, the federal court in Connecticut and the United States Court of Federal Claims. Mr. Flanagan has extensive experience in vessel financing, vessel construction contracts, towage matters, salvage matters, marine insurance coverage and litigation, complex vessel transactions (including head charters and sub-charters), and marine pollution. In addition, he has been an adjunct Professor of Law at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts since 1989. He has also been a frequent lecturer to practicing attorneys, lenders, marine surveyors and insurance professionals on Admiralty issues.
