Tamara Couture is the Senior Partner at Couture Law, which was established in 2004, currently has three attorneys and serves the community in all areas of Family Law, in addition to Worker's Compensation and Personal Injury. Tamara's practice focuses on divorce, custody, child support, timeshare and guardianship issues. Additionally, she is a highly trained and experienced mediator and is a recipient of the Judge Oliver Seth Award for Excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Tamara also accepts personal injury and worker's compensation cases.
Tamara has a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law and a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of New Mexico. She matriculated into Occidental College for her Bachelor's degree and received her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and Professional Writing from the University of New Mexico with magna cum laude honors.
Tamara's professional career before becoming an attorney included being a substance abuse counselor in Kotzebue, Alaska, a mental health therapist in Kotzebue and Albuquerque, a school counselor at Manzano High School, and the Director of the First Offender's Program in Albuquerque.
Outside of professional interests, she is active in local community acting, has completed her first novel, and is an active member of the Albuquerque Press Club. An important part of her life is her family, husband of sixteen years (Couture Law's Junior Partner) and her two children.
