Courtney, Charles W.

Charles W. Courtney, Jr. is a principal and a managing partner of Courtney, Clark & Assoc., P.C.

Mr. Courtney received his Bachelor of Science degree with high honors from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a double major in economics and government, graduating in 1983. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1986. He was an associate editor of the Journal of Urban and Contemporary Law.

Mr. Courtney’s practice focuses on several areas of litigation. These areas of concentration in the law include divorce, custody, child support, paternity and post-divorce actions, criminal defense in both State and Federal courts, including felonies, misdemeanors, DUI offenses and other traffic offenses.

Mr. Courtney has extensive trial experience in both jury and non-jury cases. He has briefed and argued numerous appeals in the State Courts of Appeals as well as the 7th United States Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.

Mr. Courtney is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois as well as the Southern District of Indiana and the Eastern District of Missouri.

Mr. Courtney is a member of the St. Clair County, Illinois State and American Bar Associations.
