Michael W. Flanigan was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 1977, and is a partner with the firm of Flanigan & Bataille. He received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Indiana University in 1977. He also received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in 1974. Mr. Flanigan's practice is primarily focused on representing victims of personal injury and families in cases involving wrongful death. He also handles cases involving Medical and Legal Malpractice, Consumer Fraud, and Social Security claims and cases involving ERISA. He is a member of the Alaska Bar Association, Alaska Academy of Trial Attorneys, American Association for Justice, and is admitted to practice before all Alaska state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska and the United States Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Flanigan has been involved in many precedent setting cases and has achieved numerous million dollar settlements and jury verdicts. Precedent setting cases, include: Peck v. Alaska Aeronautical, Inc., 744 P.2d 663 (Alaska 1987); Busby v. Municipality of Anchorage, 741 P.2d 230 (Alaska 1987); Hanebuth v. Bell Helicopter Inter., 694 P.2d 143 (Alaska 1984); Kuhn v. State, 692 P.2d 261 (Alaska 1984); and Adkins v. Nabors Alaska Drilling, Inc., 609 P.2d 15 Alaska 1980.
In his spare time Mr. Flanigan enjoys reading, travel with his wife, and spending time with their children.
