William W. Corry has been practicing plaintiff’s personal injury law in Tallahassee for more than 38 years. Mr. Corry is a fifth generation Floridian and was raised in Quincy, Florida. He attended Gordon Military Academy in Barnesville, Georgia and graduated in 1965. He graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1969 and received his J.D. from Florida State University in 1973. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in December 1973 and to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States in March, 1979. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the United States Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. He is listed in Law and Leading Attorneys in Florida (less than 5% of Florida attorneys were nominated by their peers in a statewide survey).
Beginning in 2006, and for seven consecutive years, Mr. Corry was also recognized by Law and Politics magazine as a Florida “Super Lawyer”, among the top 5% of attorneys in the State of Florida in the area of plaintiff personal injury law. He has also been recognized by Lawdragon as one of the nation’s best plaintiff’s lawyers (less than one-half of one percent of America’s 1.1 million lawyers received this award). Mr. Corry has been a member of the Florida Justice Association (FJA) since 1979 and was appointed by the President to the Board of Directors of the FJA in June 2004 and was elected to the Board in May 2005. He has been an FJA EAGLE Sponsor since 2000 and he has been an EAGLE Patron sponsor since 2003. He has received a number of FJA awards including the Gold EAGLE Award in 2004, 2005, and 2007. He also received the 2004 Staff Appreciation Award , the 2005 In Defense of Justice Award, and the 2005 "Tiger In The Bush" Award. He has also received the 2006 Political Leadership Award from the Florida Lawyers Action Group. Mr. Corry was also selected as one of Florida Trend Magazine's Legal Elite in the area of civil litigation in 2011 and again in 2012. Only the top 2% of Florida lawyers are selected for this designation.
Mr. Corry is a past President of the American Board of Trial Advocates (Tallahassee Chapter) and is a past president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys (Tallahassee Chapter). He received the 2004 Civil Trial Lawyer of the Year Award from the American Board of Trial Advocates (Tallahassee Chapter). He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Mr. Corry has also been an A.V. rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell for many years as well as a member of the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers from 2002-2012. Mr. Corry is also a member of the Tallahassee Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar, and is the current President of the Capital City Justice Association (CCJA) and also serves on its Board of Directors. He is also a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Corry has also served on the Board of Directors of LeMoyne Art Foundation in Tallahassee and is a member of the vestry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Quincy. He is also a long-time member of the Dean’s Council at Florida State University College of Law as well as a member of the National Campaign Committee at Florida State University. He is also a Golden Chief at Florida State University. He and his wife, Stephanie, live in Tallahassee with their four children.
