Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Convery joined the Corporation Counsel's office of the City of Chicago. While with the Corporation Counsel, he specialized in employment defense matters as a Senior Attorney. In that capacity, Mr. Convery represented the City and its elected officials, officers and employees in employment-related litigation. Mr. Convery also was appointed a Visiting Assistant Professor in DePaul University's College of Commerce during 1987-88. He joined the firm of Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin and Tominberg, Ltd. in 1989 and became a partner in 1992. Mr. Convery has published articles and conducted seminars on a variety of employment-related subjects, including Title VII, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Family and Medical Leave Act as well as non-competition convenants. Mr. Convery concentrates his practice in litigation involving employment discrimination, wrongful/retaliatory discharge, breach of contract, civil rights and non-competition-restrictive covenant matters.
