After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1969, Mr. Conkle served in the Navy in Europe and Vietnam as a line and intelligence officer. He was in the UCLA School of Law, Class of 1977. He concentrated on business, trade regulation and tax matters, was on the Moot Court and wrote an article on mechanic's liens for the UCLA Alaska Law Review. He was a John Olin Mathison Fellow in the UCLA Department of Economics where he concentrated his studies on economics of business organizations. Mr. Conkle is a patent attorney. He practiced with a large Los Angeles patent, trademark and unfair competition law firm handling litigated matters. He is a senior trial attorney and handles jury and bench trials, arbitrations, mediations and other dispute resolution matters, including many insurance cases.
