Sacha was called to the bar in Alberta in 2004. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Alberta. During this time Sacha was awarded the Jimmy Condon scholarship for excellence in academics and varsity athletics. He went on to study law at the University of Alberta, during which time he was elected as the criminal law coordinator for the University of Alberta's pro-bono legal assistance program.
After completing law school Sacha practiced law in Calgary Alberta. His early practice focused on estate administration, estate litigation and wrongful dismissal actions. He then moved towards an insurance defence oriented practice, defending complex general commercial liability claims, including property damage, construction, architectural errors and omissions, and personal injury claims.
Sacha joined Grant Kovacs Norell in 2009. His practice at Grant Kovacs Norell has focused primarily on general commercial liability litigation and personal injury claims. He continues to act for a number of insurers defending complex civil litigation actions, and also acts for individuals who have suffered personal injury. Sacha has appeared extensively in the Alberta Provincial Court, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal, and in the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia.
When not at work, Sacha spends much of his time outside the city, where he pursues a wide variety of outdoor activities, including kite boarding, sailing, mountain biking, motocross and fly fishing. He was also the University of Alberta Squash Champion, a member of the Golden Barristers Rugby Alumni (former team captain and club president) and a solo participant in the 1st annual Grande Cache 125km Canadian Death Race.
