Cohen, Glenn A.

David Evenhuis is an associate at Caldwell & Kearns. His practice focuses on business law and alternative dispute resolution, with an aim to reduce client liability and resolve matters effectively and efficiently. Mr. Evenhuis counsels and represents individuals and businesses in construction litigation, oil and gas negotiations, and a broad range of real estate matters. In addition to his work on behalf of clients, Mr. Evenhuis is also a trained and experienced third-party neutral. He has mediated over thirty disputes in the New York City Civil Courts, including landlord and tenant matters and business disputes between partners, and he has co-mediated federal employee discrimination suits in multiple EEOC forums.

Prior to his law career, Mr. Evenhuis taught philosophy and aesthetics at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. After law school, Mr. Evenhuis worked in wealth management for UBS and Merrill Lynch, where he advised art market clients regarding investment portfolios, and he has also served as a caseworker for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, having had the opportunity to practice hybrid dispute resolution techniques prior to appeals for medical assistance and food stamp benefits.

Mr. Evenhuis was born in Detroit, Michigan, and he lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with his wife and son. He received a B.A. in philosophy from Hope College in 1991, an M.A. in philosophy from Temple University in 1999, and a J.D. from the Cardozo School of Law in 2006, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and completed the Safe Horizon Mediation Training & Apprenticeship Program. He joined Caldwell & Kearns in 2011.
