Habib H. Erkan Jr. is a Senior Associate in the Firm. Mr. Erkan is a 1990 graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law, and a 1985 graduate of the University of Houston, Clear Lake, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science. Mr. Erkan has practiced law for more than twenty-two years. His practice focuses on regulation of land use, contracts, procurement and real estate transactions for municipalities and governmental entities. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Erkan served eight years as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of San Antonio (1992-2000), where he was the attorney directly responsible for providing legal counsel to the planning, building inspection, code compliance and purchasing departments, and seven years as a City Attorney for the City of Helotes (2000-2007) where he provided legal counsel to the City on all aspects of the municipality’s operations. He served as legal consultant to the City of Leon Valley in the adoption of its sign ordinance and has served as prosecutor for both Helotes and Leon Valley. He is a former Briefing Attorney for the Texas First Court of Appeals, is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio Chapter of Inns of Court, and serves on the elder board of Bandera Road City Church.
