Ms. Englander is an associate in the Firm's administrative, appeals, and litigation departments. A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Ms. Englander started her legal career in the New York City Law Department's Administrative Law Division. There, she represented City agencies including the Department of Buildings, Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and Environmental Control Board and litigated claims against the City in state and federal courts.
At Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman, LLP, Ms. Englander's diversified practice includes representing owners of rent regulated buildings in administrative proceedings before DHCR and in all stages of judicial review, appellate practice including drafting briefs and motions, and litigating claims made by and against clients in Supreme and Civil Court. Specializing in rent regulation, Ms. Englander's experience ranges from litigating summary proceedings and plenary actions in the lower courts to appellate practice before the Appellate Divisions and New York State Court of Appeals.
Ms. Englander is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut, and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is also a member of her building's cooperative board in Manhattan.
