Andrew Oliver is a native of the State of Washington and is the managing attorney for our firm's Seattle Office. Andrew, who also goes by "Andy," earned his law degree in 2007 from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC. He has been practicing immigration law in Seattle since that time.
During his years in Washington, DC, Andy worked in the legal departments of two national non-profit organizations: AARP and AAHSA (the American Association of Homes and Service for the Aging). Andy also served in his law school's Health Insurance Counseling Project, assisting low-income clients in disputes with insurance companies and health care providers.
Andy has a longstanding commitment to serving populations with special needs, including elderly and disabled clients. For example, in 2004 he managed the AmeriCorps program in the Seattle Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens.
From 2007 to 2009, Andy was an associate attorney for Salazar Law Offices in Seattle, where he represented numerous clients in immigration cases. Many of Andy's clients have expressed gratitude for the personal care and attention that Andy gives to each case.
Andy loves working in immigration law—not only because it gives him the opportunity to serve people in need, but also because he has a deep appreciation for cultures and languages. In his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, Andy studied linguistics, Asian languages, and literature. He has studied Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Arabic. He loves to travel, and has spent time in India, Guatemala, and several countries in Europe. Andy lives with his wife, Alissa, in Seattle.
