Gene Odom, a Tampa native, is a nationally Board Certified Civil trial attorney. He has obtained numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts throughout the State of Florida. His insight and forensic engineering and art of civil trial advocacy has produced a virtually flawless winning record.
Gene understands what it is like to struggle financially. He grew up with a lobbying yet poor family and had to work extremely hard to pay his way through engineering and law school. Gene became an expert, while in law school, and practiced as an auto accident reconstructionist. As a graduate student in biomedical engineering, Gene offered a thesis that focused specifically on injury causation due to trauma. This is the exact area of forensic science he deals with every day now as a lawyer. As an engineer, he offered expert witness services to the legal community, including accident reconstruction, biomechanical analysis, and expert testimony in court. As a law student, he mock tried more than 25 civil cases as a member of the Stetson Trial Team, the top-ranked trial team in the world. Gene graduated cum laude at the top 10 of his class.
Gene achieved his first million-dollar verdict before the age of 30. Since that time he has obtained multimillion-dollar verdicts in every consecutive year he has been practicing. Since 2005, he has taught courses in legal issues in biomedical engineering in the University of South Florida's Department of Biomedical Engineering and has also taught trial advocacy at Stetson University College of Law. Gene has written numerous articles in the field of trial advocacy and forensic science. He has lectured over 50 times to his lawyer peers around the country.
At the Martinez-Odom Law Group, he uses his education and experience in engineering and biomechanics to further his litigation strategy in the areas of personal injury liability and damages.
Recently, Gene announced the formation of a charitable organization to benefit those in the Tampa Bay area and throughout Florida who want a child but cannot afford fertility treatments
