Churchill, Daniel

Naomi Oglesby is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group. She is a civil litigator, corporate strategist, and general counsel providing legal acumen and astute guidance in complex commercial, municipal and employment litigation matters in state and federal courts. She represents individuals, and public and private companies in a wide variety of industries, including municipal, government, financial services, insurance, and health care. Ms. Oglesby also counsels school districts and public charter academies in reauthorization, vendor and facility contract review, and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Oglesby is committed to enriching the legal profession and our youth. She serves on a recurring basis as a tutor for the D. Augustus Straker Bar Minority Bar Passage Program, where she assists numerous law students to prepare for the Michigan Bar Exam. She is the founder and former president of the African-American Family Network at Harlan Elementary School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (a subsidiary of the Birmingham African-American Family Network in the Birmingham Public School District). Ms. Oglesby is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Recent Highlights: Received a favorable opinion on a motion for reconsideration that reversed a previous ruling in circuit court on behalf of a mental health agency; Achieved summary disposition for a major municipality in a negligent hiring and negligent training lawsuit; Achieved a directed verdict in a due process hearing on behalf of a public charter academy involving an Individualized Education Program (IEP) complaint.
