Attorney Kathleen A. O’Malley focuses her practice of law at Denner Pellegrino, LLP, Counselors At Law, in general civil litigation, concentrating in the areas of domestic relations, family law and estates. Since joining the firm, Attorney O’Malley has handled a variety of high conflict divorce, family law, and probate cases and has dealt with issues of jurisdiction and business valuation, as well as prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
She previously worked as a Staff Attorney for Western Massachusetts Legal Services (WMLS) where she was a zealous advocate for low income individuals in the greater Springfield area. As a member of the Family Law Unit, she represented clients in a variety of legal proceedings before the court and addressed challenging issues regarding domestic violence and abuse.
Attorney O’Malley also has served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Probate and Family Court Department, working with the judges on a variety of family, probate and juvenile law topics. Her extensive research and writing work ranged from divorce matters, paternity challenges and specific issues relative to the care and custody of children, such as the removal of minor children from the Commonwealth, step-parent visitations to guardianships, will contests and estate administration.
Additionally, Attorney O’Malley’s practice experience includes time that she spent with the Department of Social Services where she interned in a variety of units within the Department including the legal and adoption units. Kathleen believes that investigation and preparation for trial is important work for just results and quotes Galileo Galilei, “All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.”
Attorney O’Malley is a graduate of the Juris Doctor/Master of Social Work joint degree program between Western New England College of Law and Springfield College School of Social Work and was a recipient of the Marjorie Sullivan and Law Alumni Scholarships... She earned her B.A. in English and Sociology, magna cum laude, from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, was a member of Alpha Chi National College Honor Society, International Honor Society and a recipient of several scholarships including the Alumni Association Scholarship, Board of Trustees Scholarship and the Nicholas and Ruth Boraski Scholarship. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is a member of the Hampden County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
