La Donna J. Childress is a member of the California and Nevada State Bar Associations.
While in law school, Ms. Childress participated in the Summer Honors Program as a Law Clerk in the California Attorney General’s Office, Criminal Division. She was also a teaching and research assistant for multiple professors, and made the Dean’s List for two consecutive years. She received many honors, scholarships, and distinctions while attending law school, including serving as Managing Editor on law review, participating in the Moot Court Honors Program, and receiving the Paul W. Wildman scholarship.
Ms. Childress also served as a legal extern to the Honorable Dale S. Fischer in the United States District Court, Central District of California in Los Angeles, California. There she performed legal research and prepared for pretrial issues and orders.
After graduating cum laude from law school, Ms. Childress clerked for Chief Justice Robert E. Rose of the Nevada Supreme Court. In Justice Rose's chambers, she performed legal research, prepared bench memoranda, and assisted the court in drafting orders and opinions in both civil and criminal law matters. Ms. Childress subsequently rejoined the Nevada Supreme Court as a staff attorney in the state’s capital at Carson City.
As an associate attorney for Bennett & Erdman, Ms. Childress handles primarily family law matters as well as a variety of civil litigation matters.
In her spare time, Ms. Childress loves to attend art exhibitions by local artists, work out at the gym, and hike in the mountains with her dog Shep. She also volunteers her time to various political and social causes close to her heart. Ms. Childress understands the need for a work-life balance, and she will work hard to help get your life back in balance.
