Rosalyn Charles, Esq. is the principal and managing attorney at RC Charles & Associates and has practiced law in the State of New Jersey for over twenty years.
She is a graduate of Spelman College and received her law degree from Seton Hall University. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Charles clerked for the Honorable Irvin B. Booker, Judge of the Superior Court. Thereafter she served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Office of the Essex County Prosecutor located in Newark, New Jersey. Her tenure included assignments to the adult trial section, narcotic investigations and homicide. She managed the homicide cold case unit and ultimately rose to the rank of Assistant Prosecutor/Director of the Narcotic Special Investigations Unit.
Her career then led to the bench in Irvington, New Jersey. Judge Charles presided over drunk driving, traffic, quasi criminal and other matters of public safety. She soon became presiding judge of that court managing its staff and operations.
She is a former partner at Cary Charles & Winston, LLC of South Orange, New Jersey. Cary Charles & Winston was a small firm successfully assisting its individual clients with their major concerns surrounding divorce, family, bankruptcy, real estate, criminal defense, wills & estates, employment, personal injury and contract disputes. RC Charles & Associates is an extension of that philosophy wherein we navigate through our client's major concerns seeking favorable outcomes.
Rosalyn has also received national acclaim as a special legal expert on various television shows. She has appeared regularly on Court TV and Fox News and has served as a guest host on WWRL radio station which broadcasts from New York City.
She is a current member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (Family Law Section) and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey. She is a past trustee of the Garden State Bar Association, past vice chair of the Essex County Fee Arbitration Committee, and past treasurer of the Essex County Municipal Court Judges Association.
